Frequently Asked Questions

  • The 3 day DIP programs generally start on Thursday evening at 4:00 PM and are completed on Sunday at 2:30 PM. The 6 Day DIP programs start on Thursday at 4:00 PM and end on Wednesday at 1:00 PM. 
  • The programs are held at Quality Inn, 10621 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg, OH 43551 US, Exit 193 off I-75 OR Exit 64 off I-80/90.
  • Our programming day is usually from 8:30 AM – 5 PM with regular breaks and 1 hour for lunch and an hour for dinner. Breakfast is at 7:45 AM and folks need to be in their rooms by 11:00 PM.
  • In terms of program content – the first evening we do check in and basic introduction to the program and each other. The next two days cover alcohol and drug information. The final day is drivers specific content. The daily schedule is a download on our web site.
  • The fee for the 3 day program is $520 for a shared room or $665 for a private room. For the 6 day program the fee is $890 for a shared room and $1170 for a private room.
  • Included with the fee is all hotel expense, all meals, the communications with the Courts.
  • Payment can be made at sign up by mailing a check or money order to Empowered for Excellence, or by calling Empowered for Excellence to pay with a credit or debit card, or in person at 3170 W. Central Ave. Toledo, OH 43606.
  • In order to be considered a confirmed registrant and not on the standby list, we request a deposit of $175 payable by the methods above. This deposit is non-refundable but can transfer to another program date if necessary. The remaining balance is due on the Monday prior to (10 days before) your program date and must be paid in one lump sum. Failure to make full payment by this day will result in you needing to reschedule you class!
  • Food is catered in from an area provider.
  • You are allowed to bring snacks as long as they are in original sealed containers. Snacks can be purchased through the Hotel, so extra spending money is allowed.
  • The first evening (Thursday) will not include a meal.
  • Do not drink alcohol before you come to the program. Should you test positive on the breathalyzer you will not be allowed to come into the program and the Court will be notified.
  • Once you are admitted into the program you are not allowed to leave the facility.
  • Once you are admitted to the program visitors are not allowed.
  • Dress is casual and comfortable.
  • A pool and an exercise area are available for your use during free time. So bring a swim suit or exercise clothes if you would like.
  • Cell phones and computers are only allowed in your room. Cell phone use in program areas is restricted because most cell phones have a camera and we want to protect every ones privacy. Our goal is not to restrict communication but to protect your confidentiality.
  • Private reading material is allowed. All program material is provided.
  • Personal hygiene items are allowed.
  • If you are on prescription medications please bring them in the original labeled bottles.
  • “No brainer” rules apply – don’t bring alcohol, drugs, weapons, gun, knives, or other forms of nastiness. You will be asked to leave and the Court will be notified.

Each participant will be expected to develop and present an individual project that addresses some area of personal interest specific to the various topics presented over the course of the Six (6) Day Drivers Intervention Program. Time will be set aside throughout the course of the Program to work on these Projects. A Project may be personal in nature or may be more academic. Recourses will be provided as needed. Some possible Project Topics include:
  • Alcohol and Loss of what I Value
  • A review of newspaper articles specific to Victims Impact
  • How do I prevent another OVI arrest
  • AA and the development of a sober lifestyle
  • The Medical Process of Addiction
My Personal use of mood altering substances and the relevant consequences Alcohols contribution to Domestic Violence, Aggression and STD’s Alcohol, Drug and the Family

Tell me about the program

  • The 3 day DIP programs generally start on Thursday evening at 5:30 PM and are completed on Sunday at 4:00 PM. The 6 Day DIP programs start on Thursday at 5:30 PM and end on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. Some programs are Friday starts (5:30 PM) and end on Monday (4:00 PM) so check the date.
  • The programs are held either at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Holland (1435 East Mall Drive off Airport Highway near Spring Meadows Mall) or the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Rossford (9789 Clark Drive, off State Route 795 just north of the Bass Pro Shop). Again check the date and location of the program you are interested in attending.
  • Our programming day is usually from 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM with regular breaks and 1 hour for lunch and an hour for dinner. Breakfast is at 7:45 AM and folks need to be in their rooms by 11:00 PM.

  • Included with the fee is all hotel expense, all meals, the communications with the Courts and the 2 point credit through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
  • Payment can be made at sign up by mailing a check or money order to Talbot Services, or by calling Talbot Services to pay with a credit or debit card. Payment may also be made at the start of the program with credit, debit, cash, check or money order.
  • In order to be considered a confirmed registrant and not on the standby list, we request a deposit of $100 payable by the methods above. This deposit is non-refundable but can transfer to another program date if necessary. The balance of the program fee will be due at the start of the program.

  • Food is catered in from area providers such as Bob Evans, Boston Market, and Vito’s Pizza.
  • You are allowed to bring snacks as long as they are in original sealed containers. Snacks can be purchased through the Hotel, so extra spending money is allowed.
